selling the rhythms of empathy?

Am listening to a monologue by the director of Malmo opera on eclabs rethinking audiences.

I think its interesting that he mentions doing a blog as an opera. As blogs are often about such large topics as operas.
By doing blogs as operas, they hope to get new audiences and at the same time re-think the approach they employ at the opera house to people who potentially will come to the shows. (aka audiences..)
However, the stuff that seemed peculiar for me is that he is very open about having to think, to sense, like the audience will. In this case, the audience as an entity is a different kind of being to a human being, no? THe audience has a language, a behaviour, a way of thinking and moving in life.
The audience has, in short, its own rhythms and rhythmicality.
However, because the make up of audience mosaic is made of human individuals, I think it doesn’t seem odd, or different, or crossing, while attempting to empathise with that being and get to sense it..
No?
